Canada Temporary Visa
DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR A TRV TO ENTER CANADA?

-
Foreign nationals from visa requiring countries require a visa to come to Canada by any method of travel – plane, car, bus, train, or cruise ship.
-
Foreign nationals from a visa-exempt country, require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada by air (unless exempt).
HOW TO APPLY
Applicants who need a visitor visa to enter Canada can apply online, with a paper application, or in person at a Visa Application Center (VAC). If you are travelling as a family, each family member, including dependent children, must complete their own application. However, you may submit all of the applications together. Applicants may be required to include biometric information in their application, depending on their country of citizenship. If biometrics are required, the applicant will need to provide their fingerprints and photograph at a biometric collection service point. Biometrics can be collected after submitting the visitor visa application when you are prompted to do so, or at the same time as submission if submitting in person at a Visa Application Center (VAC). Apply at least 3 months before your planned departure from Canada or immediately after you have extended your study/work permit. The cost would be $100.00 CAD and $85.00 CAD for biometrics, if applicable

For those who come to Canada to study:
If you apply for an initial study permit or Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) from outside of Canada you are not required to apply separately for a TRV. When your initial study permit or PGWP application is approved, you will automatically be issued a TRV along with your study or work permit, if required.
Two types of Canadian Visitors Visa:

-
is the standard document to issue for most visitors, unless under special circumstances.
